Students awaiting revised CBSE Class 12 results after applying for re-evaluation can still complete their registration for undergraduate admissions at Delhi University, with the university assuring them that marks can be updated later on the admission portal.

The clarification comes as DU has launched the first phase of admissions for the 2026-27 academic session under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), while revised CBSE results for nearly 20,000 students are yet to be announced. The university said affected candidates should not postpone registration because the portal will remain open long enough for them to revise their details once updated scores are released.

DU Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi said students whose CBSE re-evaluation results are pending should enter their original Class 12 marks while completing the registration process.

“Class XII CBSE students who have applied for re-evaluation but have not yet received their revised scores should enter their pre-evaluation marks in the CSAS portal. They can update their marks once the revised results are declared. Students need not worry, as the CSAS portal will remain open for several weeks, giving them ample time to make the changes,” Gandhi told ANI.

CBSE Class 12 marks play limited role in DU admissions

Gandhi said Class 12 marks are not the primary basis for admission to Delhi University.

“CBSE marks are not used much in the admission process. We only need to ensure that a student has passed Class XII. The marks are used only in case of a tie-breaker,” she said.

According to information shared earlier by the Education Ministry, CBSE has already released revised results for around 87 per cent of Class 12 candidates who sought verification of marks or re-evaluation.

Of the nearly 1.68 lakh students who applied for the process, revised scores have been declared for about 1.47 lakh candidates. Results for the remaining nearly 20,000 students are expected in the coming days.

CUET 2026 scores to determine admissions

Delhi University on Friday opened Phase I registrations on the CSAS portal for undergraduate admissions to the 2026-27 academic session.

Candidates who appeared for CUET (UG) 2026 can register using their CUET application number.

The university said admissions to 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 BA programme combinations across 67 colleges will be based exclusively on CUET (UG) 2026 scores, subject to programme-specific eligibility requirements.

During Phase II of the admission process, applicants will have to map the CUET subjects with those studied in Class 12 before submitting their preferred courses and colleges. The schedule for the second phase will be announced separately.
